Can I wash my UGG boots?

We do not recommend machine washing or fully soaking your boots, as genuine double-face sheepskin is a natural material.

To maintain their quality, we recommend:

  • Spot cleaning only
  • Using a suede brush or specialist sheepskin cleaner
  • Allowing boots to dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight

Does protector spray make my boots waterproof?

Protector spray can help improve water resistance and reduce the risk of watermarks, especially when applied before first wear.

While our sheepskin has a water-resistant surface treatment, we recommend avoiding water exposure wherever possible.

If your boots do get wet:

  • Remove them as soon as possible
  • Allow them to dry naturally (this can take 1–3 days)
  • Keep them away from direct heat or sunlight

Getting the boots wet will retan the sheepskin and weaken the stitching and alter the integrity of natural sheepskin ugg boots.

Be cautious of products marketed as “waterproof,” as harsh chemical treatments can alter the natural properties, breathability and softness of sheepskin.

Are UGG Australia® products really made in Australia?

Yes. All UGG Australia products are proudly made in Australia.

We manufacture locally using premium Australian materials and operate our own tannery in Melbourne, allowing us to oversee the entire production process from tanning through to final craftsmanship.

All products are registered with the Australian Made Campaign and carry the Australian Made and Owned certification. Many styles also qualify for the “Product of Australia” designation.
